We are proud to announce we have achieved a new sustainability milestone on another Poly headset! Read more about our commitment to sustainability!

Several of us have been using the Voyager 5200 and all it's antecedants for many years (more than ten) and we have always foudn it to be the best at noise cancelling for outgoing calls, as well as werable all day in a noisy office or while hikiing or in the car etc etc.

Almost the instant Poly took over the quality of outgoing voice has disappeared. They work for a while and then we sound like we are under water. We have tried everything we can think of, resets, diabling various feautres and so on over a long time. We have been waiting in hope for a fix but none has been forthcoming. We have seen on Amazon that others have the same issues.

We wonder oif oit is a bluetooth issue, but this is just desperation - given I have several of these headsets here on the shelf.

Can anyone offer some hope ?My colleagues have given up and now use the Focus, but when we are out of the office this is a difficult if not impractical solution. Indeed the Focus apparently uses the same technology so why does it work and the 5200 not?

Regards to all

Anthony

So, I have dug out several of my previous Plantronics headsets (I have had all of them), a trip down memory lane in itself. I have a few 5200s purchased in the hope the issue would be solved. It wasn't and isn't.

Interestingly I have found my old Plantronics Voyage Pro+ and it is working very nicely, including the old long battery life even after being out of use for so long. It won't connect to Poly Lens and I guess needs the old Hub app. However, I am now wary of firmware updates given current experience.

My current 5200 is still working ok after a "reset" and I have not yet touched any of the default settings though it is tempting to disable the ear proximity feature because I get constant connected/disconnected messages.

Hello, @anthony5200, and welcome to the HP Poly community.

I am sorry to hear that you are facing issues with the Poly Voyager 5200.

It seems like you have tried almost all the troubleshooting, and the headset is working fine. In case you still face further issues with the headset, I would request that you contact HP Support to get the headset replaced if it is under warranty, and our support engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:

Thank you for your reply.

The issue is that when "fixed" the problem later returns usually after two months I think it is.

I have returned several to my supplier and all have been the same.

I bought one for my brother and his is now useless.

My other brother has used one like me for years and he has given up.

So I do not think it is just one headset I think there is a systematic issue that no one is addressing because a temporary fix can be created, but it does not last.

Look at Amazon reviews and you will see a significant number of complaints, so we see that others besides my group are having issues.

Plantronics used to be the best by far and the situation since the Poly involvement is a deep disappointment.

What I would like to hear is that the engineers are now working on it - first by testing a few sets to generate the problem, which is that transmitted speech sounds like one is underwater; which in itself might indicate a problem with the noise cancelling.
