Voyager Focus 2
Microsoft Windows 11
Hello,

I recently got a Voyager Focus 2 Bluetooth headset and the problem is that I often can't hear the calls because it just makes a "beep beep incoming call" sound and doesn't have a proper ringtone. I've already searched through all the settings in the Poly app, but I just couldn't find a setting to select a proper ringtone that you can hear even if you're just wearing the headset around your neck. I also haven't found a way to transfer the ringtone from my Alcatel 8244 phone to the headset.

I previously had a Jabra headset, and this had a real ringtone that you could hear even when you weren't wearing the headset on your head.

Is there really no way to set a decent ringtone for the Focus 2 headset that you can hear even when you're not wearing it on your head, like with the Jabra headsets? Or is there a way to transfer the ringtone of the alcatel 8244 cell phone to the Focus 2 headset via Bluetooth? The headset isn't much use to me if I don't hear it ring most of the time.....

Thanks & best wishes
xenon

Hello @blackxenon Welcome to the HP Poly Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I regret to inform you that it is not possible to change the ringtone of the headset or transfer the ringtone via the Bluetooth; however, you can switch off the notification alert or increase the volume of the notification.

To turn off the Mute Reminder System Tray Notification:

Open the Poly Lens.

  1. Click the Settings button on the top, and then click General.
  2. From the Mute Reminder drop-down list, choose either Audible Reminder if you want to hear the reminder whispered in your headset or off if you want no reminders at all.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance. If you find the information provided useful or solves your problems, help other users find the solution more easily by giving Kudos/Thumbs Up and marking my post as an Accepted Solution.

Good evening,

I don't want to mute the reminder.

My "problem" is that even at full volume the sound *beep beep incoming call" is much too quiet, so you can't even hear it when you have the headset around your neck.

How are you supposed to hear an incoming call when you're not at your desk, for example?

That's exactly what a headset is for.

Every other manufacturer can do it too.

The previous one from Jabra also had a "simple" but loud ringtone and no "beep beep incoming call".

This simple ringtone was also very easy to hear if you just wore the headset around your neck and not directly on your head.

You can't wear the headset on your head all day just to hear whether someone is calling or not.

That can't be the point of a headset

Why is there no way to change this via a firmware update?

I work on a hotline where it's important to be able to hear incoming calls, but you can also wear the headset around your neck sometimes.

Kindly Regards

Thank you so much for the update, @blackxenon

Could you please follow the below steps and check if this resolves the issue?

Go to Poly Lens > Settings > Ringtone & Volume.

  1. Select Volume Level Tones.
  2. Select one of the following options:

At Every Level: Hear a tone every time you increase or decrease the volume.

Minimum & Maximum Only: Hear a tone only when you hit the minimum or maximum volume level.

Go to Poly Lens > Settings > Ringtone & Volume.

1. Select Volume Min/Max to change it either to tone or voice.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance. If you find the information provided useful or solves your problems, help other users find the solution more easily by giving Kudos/Thumbs Up and marking my post as an Accepted Solution.

Set it to "every Level" and also changed the Volume min/max to  "tone".

but that doesn't change anything.
even at full volume it's simply not audible if you wear the headset around your neck and not directly on your head.

Thank you so much, @blackxenon

It seems like you have tried almost all the troubleshooting, and it looks like the headset is faulty. I would request that you contact HP Support to get the headset replaced if it is under warranty, and our support engineers should be able to sort this out.
