Hello,

I use the BT 700 combined with the Voyager Focus 2 series headset. A few months ago, the BT 700 started flashing when i put it in one of the USB-A sockets and did not connect with the headset, ie. was not working (because the headset had no issue connecting via BT to the laptop directly or my phone).

Sometimes I had to take the BT 700 out a few times until it worked on any of the BT sockets. Then, even when it connects to the headset (laptop BT off), the distance is not as good as it used to be for propper signal. Even if i am less than 2 m away and I turn my head or hold a hand over the right side of the headset, the signal is broken.

Can you tell me if I need a new BT 700 or the issue is with the headset? Personally, I believe the expensive BT 700 is damaged. I hope that the solution is not to buy a new one, because then i will opt for another brand.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions,

Chris

Hello @Christosx2, Welcome to the HP Poly Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the Poly Voyager Focus 2.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please try a few troubleshooting steps provided below so that I can assist you further?

It seems like you are experiencing connectivity issues with your BT700 adapter when using it with the Poly Voyager Focus 2 Series headset. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Update Firmware:

  • Ensure that both your headset and the BT700 adapter are using the latest firmware. You can use the Poly Lens Desktop App to update your devices. This can improve performance and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Download Poly Lens App: poly.com/lens.

2. Check USB Ports:

  • Try connecting the BT700 adapter to different USB ports to check if the issue persists with specific ports.
  • If your computer has various types of USB ports, such as USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, try switching between them to see if it makes a difference.

3. Re-pair the Devices:

  • Sometimes, repairing the headset with the BT700 adapter may help resolve connection issues. You can try putting the headset into pairing mode and repairing it with the adapter.

4. Manage Bluetooth Settings:

  • Ensure that other devices are not interfering with the Bluetooth connection by turning off Bluetooth on devices not currently in use.
  • Check the settings on your laptop to ensure that the BT700 is set as the default audio device.

5. Proximity and Interference:

  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the BT700 adapter and the headset that could weaken the signal.
  • Limit the number of Bluetooth devices connected simultaneously to reduce interference.

Hi,

All points already done and re-done with no positive result.

Also, why has the light of the 700 changed? Not red, not green but either flacking on off or being a strange blueish-lila.

Hi,

thanks, I had found the colour meaning in the manual just today.

Still no solution for the issue of the bad connection. Very bad, not even 2 m away from the USB connector.

When I hold my hand near the right side of my headset, sound gets distorted, when i move 3 m away, it is away. This was not the case initially, so i suppose that the USB is faulty and needs replacement. But with the crazy exorbitant price, it is better if i just buy another trustworthy system.
