After a week of testing I have no more ideeas, so please, if is possible give me a hint of what I can do next.
I have an issue with Alcor Smart Card Reader, on windows 7 the laptops are working fine but with windows 10 I have login errors: ''Smart Card cannot be recognised. Please insert the card or check if is in the right position''
TS 2048 bit smart chip card cannot be detected.
Can be detected ONLY if I set the Alcor SmartCard Reader to EMV Mode and I insert the card first in the Laptop.
Bios updated to 1.29A version.
Drivers updated, to the last version.
In the "services.msc" the starttyp from the smartcard-service I set it to "automatically".
Also in the Device Manager Alcor I set the driver in Auto Mode or ISO/IEC 7816 Mode, error is present.
In EMV Mode, when I start my laptop if I insert first the card it will work,
but the moment I eject it and try it again or just try another card it won't work and the error is still there.
I did check the Smart Card Plug and Play in local Group Policy.
I install and test Alcor drivers: 1.7.45.12, 1.7.45.15, 1.7.45.16, 1.7.46.00, 1.7.46.35 with the same results.
I did test the laptops with an external card reader (HID Omnikey) and I have no more problems but I cannot use this workaround.
So, my conclusion is - a driver issue.
How can I solve this issue.
Please HELP!!

And I did test yesterday whole day long an 840 G3 2017 production year and the error is not there.
Because 820 and 840 G3 with the problems are made in 2016 all I can say right now is :
the smartcard reader is somehow faulty.
I will try today to see the differences from 2016-2017 generations on this Alcor smartcard reader.

And I did test yesterday an 820 G2 (2016) and I have no errors.
Today I did received a new smart card reader module from HP and the laptop with the error is working just fine.
So, all this stress was from a faulty smart card reader, after replacement I got no more errors.
I have to contact today Hp because I have around 200 laptops with the same problem.
Will be fun!!!!!!! 🙂
