Active Pen

Hi, on HP product page, accessories are suggested for Elitebook X G1a, such as the HP Campus Green Backpack + HP Pen MPPA 1.51 Bundle (see picture): HP EliteBook X G1a 14 inch Notebook Next Gen AI PC

I bought the HP active pen MPP1 1.51, changed the battery provided, but was not able to have it working with the laptop.

Then, I bought the HP active pen G3, could pair it in bluetooth (connected), but it is not working at all.

I am starting to wonder whether the digitizer allows active pen use and if HP made a mistake suggesting the MPPA 1.51.

Any support would be much welcome.

Hi @CyrilM 

HP makes recommendations that are not always correct. In my humble opinion, this laptop does not support active pens; only the X360 tablet and Omnibook models support active pens.

You can see the recommended parts on page 18 of the service manual.

thanks for confirming my doubts. I am stunned that active pens don't work on such expensive laptops aimed at being used by creative professionnals.

You're welcome. It's frustrating, but it makes sense. It's very difficult to design if it's not in tablet mode.
