Hello HP Community,
I am looking for a new HP business notebook and have noticed that many of the newer models are marketed with AI features, AI assistants or dedicated AI hardware (NPU).
I want to know:
Are there newer models of notebooks from HP that do not have AI features or AI-based functionality?
I am searching for a modern business laptop with current hardware. However, I do not need AI capabilities specifically and would prefer a device without AI-related software or features if possible.
Any recommendations on recently released HP models that fit these requirements? Also, does anyone know if AI features are now standard across the board on new HP business notebooks?
Thank you for your help and suggestions.
Kind regards

An interesting question and highly relevant these days as this Reddit discussion, for example, shows.
HP ProBook 400/460 G10 Series: These models features 13th and 14th-generation Intel Core processors (Raptor Lake architecture) or standard AMD Ryzen 7000 series chips. These processors deliver excellent, up-to-date business performance for office workflows without including an NPU chip.
HP EliteBook 800 G10 Series: Whilst the newer G11 series heavily leans into Intel Core Ultra "AI" chips, the G10 generation remains highly relevant, enterprise-supported, and widely available with standard Intel 13th Gen processors that lack hardware-level AI.
- The Hardware Benefit: If you buy an NPU-equipped laptop, the chip functions quietly like a coprocessor. If you do not open AI apps, it mostly works in the background to handle system resource management and power efficiency, giving you significantly better battery life.
- The Software is Optional: HP’s proprietary tools (like the HP AI Companion) can be completely uninstalled or blocked via corporate IT management policies.
- Skip Copilot Activation: During the initial Windows 11 setup, do not opt into cloud features or log in with a personal Microsoft account if you prefer to keep everything strictly offline.
- Disable via Group Policy: If you have Windows 11 Pro, you can entirely disable Windows Copilot and AI recall features system-wide using the Local Group Policy Editor (navigating to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Copilot).
- Uninstall Bloatware: You can safely remove the HP AI Companion and Poly Camera Pro AI effects using the standard Windows "Add or Remove Programs" menu.
