HP Pavilion x360 Laptop - 14-dw0023na

Hi. I had pavilion 360 and it was giving me a error about colling fan occasionally on startup. I reached out to HP support as it was under warranty and they asked me to reset the device which I did but that didnt solve the problem. They asked for bios update that didnt help either. Few days later there was a windows update and then my audio was showing not connected so if I connect external audio device it was working but the internal audio wasnt. I reached out again to HP and they again asked me to remove audio drivers install another one and then reset which didnt help. I asked them the device to be replaced as it was under warranty to which they said NO ans said can only repair. I sent the device over and its over 15 days not heard anything back. HP repair status says misuse and they will contact me to pay for repair. I havent got any call or email deapite of chasing many times via their HP whatsapp number

CSO Number:

BVBB1970-01

. I would like to escalate this to get an update. Also this isnt misuse and there is no damage on the device at all as I clicked photographs before sending the device. HP hasnt been great for aftercare support when i have logged many cases earlier as well. Can someone help please?

This is the laptop my son is using for online classes and i am still waiting to get it back as no replacement was provided when i requested earlier too

Hi @Satwantsaini,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing audio issues with your HP Pavilion x360 laptop. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.

  • Check the volume settings: Make sure the volume is not muted or turned down too low. You can usually find the volume control icon in the system tray (bottom-right corner of the screen). Click on it and adjust the volume level.
  • Test different audio sources: Verify if the audio issue is specific to certain applications or all audio sources. Try playing audio from different sources like YouTube videos, music files, or online streaming platforms to see if the problem persists.
  • Update audio drivers: Outdated or incompatible audio drivers can cause audio problems. Visit the HP support website and download the latest audio drivers for your specific laptop model. Install the drivers and restart your laptop to see if the issue is resolved.
  • Run the audio troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter that can automatically detect and fix common audio problems. To access it, right-click on the volume control icon in the system tray, select "Troubleshoot sound problems," and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Check audio settings: Open the sound settings on your laptop and ensure that the correct playback device is selected. Right-click on the volume control icon, choose "Open Sound settings," and verify that the correct output device is selected under the "Output" section.
  • Disable audio enhancements: Some audio enhancements or effects can interfere with the sound output. Open the sound settings, select your playback device, click on "Device properties," go to the "Enhancements" tab, and check the box to "Disable all enhancements." Click Apply and OK to save the changes.
  • Restart Windows Audio service: Sometimes, restarting the Windows Audio service can help resolve audio issues. Press Windows key + R, type "services.msc" (without quotes), and press Enter. In the Services window, locate "Windows Audio," right-click on it, and select "Restart." Repeat the same process for the "Windows Audio Endpoint Builder" service

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
