My Hp Elitebook 1030×360 G3 audio stopped working few days back. It was showing audio driver not installed.  I tried downloading the windows update yesterday and restarted the system but audio is still not sounding even with the  new audio driver now showing.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I understand that the audio on your HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3 stopped working, initially showing that the audio driver was not installed. Although Windows Update has now installed the audio driver, you still have no sound.

Please try these steps:

  1. Right-click the speaker icon on the taskbar and select Sound settings.
  2. Under Output, make sure the correct speakers/audio device is selected and the volume is turned up.
  3. Open Device Manager > Sound, video, and game controllers and confirm the audio device is listed without a warning icon.
  4. Right-click the audio device > Properties > Driver and check the driver status.
  5. Restart the notebook and test the audio again.

If there is still no sound, please run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics > Component Tests > Audio. If the test fails, provide the 24-digit Failure ID.

 

Also, please let us know whether headphones produce sound or if there is no audio from either the built-in speakers or headphones.
