I'm still having error 260 with latest firmware updater. Tried running in WinPE and in Full OS, still no go. Having the problem with 830 G5, 840G, x360 1040 G5....

PlatformManager's setup works because he has the HP_TOOLS partition.

 

The old tool (HPBIOSUPDREC / 64) did not require this partition but the new tool (HpFirmwareUpdRec / 64) does.

 

As some have already noted, the other main difference is the -f switch.  It now points to the folder, not the bin file directly.  If you have the bin file in the same folder as the tool you can leave off -f altogether.

 

Also, be sure you have 3010 (Pending Reboot) and 282 (BIOS already current) as extra "Success Codes" in your TS Step.

 

You should be good to go.
