My laptop a HP840 serial number HP HP EliteBook 840 G8 Notebook PC SBKPF
System Serial Number: [edited]
Chassis Serial Number: [edited] is running hot and I wanted to adjust the fan setting.

The HP website says to use the "Customized Fan Control Options" to adjust the setting.

This is not in the option when I go into the BIOS whcih is at HP T76 Ver. 01.21.00, 09/04/2025

I have set the option to have the fan on when the laptop is on AC power.

Can I add the Customized Fan Control Options to the current BIOS?

Hello.

That setting seems to available only on G11 models, not available on G8.

There are various 3rd party fan control Windows software available from Github and elsewhere but they may not work with your laptop.
