HP Zbook 15 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have three HP Zbook 15 G2 all of which do NOT have functional Thunderbolt ports.

I have updated the BIOS to 1.26 to find that there is NO support for setting up the Thunderbolt devices.

I have a Thunderbolt device driver loaded, which shows no errors and when connecting a Thunderbolt device being activated.

The is an audio sound when the device is connected, but the Intel "Thunderbolt Control Center" does NOT detect the device, which is a Hard Disk.

I am amazed that the 2020 BIOS update doesn't support Thunderbolt setup.

HOW DO YOU GET THE Thunderbolt Port to detect the device??????

Hello.

Laptops have had built-in security features regarding Thunderbolt, since the Thunderbolt PCIe bus allows low-level access to computer memory and such. There should be BIOS setting somewhere in Advanced / Port Security to set the level of trust, i.e. trust all devices, trust displays, require authorization. Try changing the setting. (I don't have a Zbook G2, can't remember the details on this old model)

In Windows 10 you have the Thunderbolt Control Center. It should have and "approve devices" menu selection. Can you approve the drive there?

Can you tell what the hard drive type is and does it have a native TB2 connector, or are you using adapters? Have you tried it succesfully with another type of Thunderbolt equipped computer?
