Hi,

 

My laptop Turns off automatically as soon as battery goes below 40%. Last week it used to turn off after 30%

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the battery issue.

 

Please try these steps - Battery Does Not Hold a Charge

 

Also, try these steps to update the computer - 

 

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

 

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

 

Also, try updating the BIOS. Refer to this document for steps - HP Consumer Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System)

No didnt work for me. Infact now my laptop doesnt turn on if battery is below 70% or either plugged in to charger.

Is there anything else i can do Please help

its just 2.5 yrs I think batterys dont go down that soon
