Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All

I work in the Education sector in the UK and we're currently purchasing HP Elite Book and HP Zbook Firefly 15 laptops.

We set a default admin bios password on all our laptops.

When trying to update the bios version in Windows 10 via HP Support Assistant i'm prompted for the bios password.  For most laptops this works fine when we enter in the bios password but on a handful of laptops the bios password isn't accepted.

If i boot directly into bios and enter in the bios password when prompted, it accepts the bios password.  I then tend to clear the bios password, update the bios version and then go back into bios and apply the bios password again.

i'm just wondering if anyone has come across this issue before and if so, how they managed to fix the issue so that the bios password is accepted when prompted for in Windows 10.

Thanks

Dave
