Bios - "this bios is not for production use" - elitebook 830 g5

After a Bios Update intiated by the windows update I receive at the boot screen this message:

"this bios is not for production use"

I tried to download actual and older bios from the hp website, but the windows installer runs into an error.

If I go the way via an USB stick and F10 and Bios update i get "invalid firmware"

at the moment Windows 11 is working fine as far as i can see

What went wrong?

How can i fix that problem?

important to mention: that downgrade from 11.8.95.4551 to 11.8.90.3987 doesn´t last, because the same downgrade apears by the 2nd and 3rd try!

Hello.

I recommend calling HP support and asking for advice.

You can see the currently active BIOS version in Windows by Fn+Esc combo (HP System Information window) or running msinfo32.exe program which shows BIOS Version/Date.

I would recommend trying the BIOS update again, this time from HP support site for your model. Run the latest (1.28) update again to see if it helps.

If not, try with the previous (1.27) version.

Updating bios is not possible (see my previruos posts) all that files where from the hp side. (Expect that from windows update that caused the problem)

My idea behind that: if it is realy - lets say - a real old (on board?)emergency backup bios (01.00.00) then it might be possible to update the bioses in several steps by using older but not too new bios updates

Yes.

It is safe to try.

If the Bios 01.03.00 is not in the currently installed BIOS family it will not install and simply stop the installation and remove the file.
