Hello,

I am contacting you regarding my HP ProBook 650 G2 computer. The BIOS currently installed on the machine is not recognized as an official HP BIOS, which prevents any updates or restores using standard HP tools.

Here is the technical information for the device:

Model: HP ProBook 650 G2

BIOS Family: N76

System Board ID: 80FD

Currently installed BIOS: non-HP version (N76 01.62)

I would like to restore a genuine, signed HP BIOS. To do this, I would need to obtain an official SoftPaq containing the N76 BIOS for this model, ideally one of the following versions:

BIOS 01.49 Rev.A (SP111708)

BIOS 01.40

BIOS 01.30

These versions are no longer available on the public HP website, nor via the usual FTP links. Could you please provide me with:

an official download link to one of these SoftPaq BIOS files,

or an alternative method for restoring a genuine HP BIOS on this model?

Je vous contacte concernant mon ordinateur HP ProBook 650 G2. Le BIOS actuellement installé sur la machine n’est pas reconnu comme un BIOS HP officiel, ce qui empêche toute mise à jour ou restauration via les outils HP standards.

Je souhaite restaurer un BIOS HP authentique et signé. Pour cela, j’aurais besoin d’obtenir un SoftPaq officiel contenant le BIOS N76 pour ce modèle, idéalement l’une des versions suivantes :

BIOS 01.40

BIOS 01.30

Ces versions ne sont plus disponibles sur le site public HP, ni via les liens FTP habituels. Pourriez-vous me fournir :

un lien de téléchargement officiel vers l’un de ces SoftPaq BIOS,

ou une méthode alternative permettant de restaurer un BIOS HP authentique sur ce modèle ?

You currently have N76 v. 01.62, so you seem to have the latest official legitimate BIOS file. 

Maybe, you can tell us how you found that " The BIOS currently installed on the machine is not recognized as an official HP BIOS."

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. After analysis, I can confirm that the BIOS 01.62 I previously installed was not the official HP BIOS. It did not contain the usual HP signatures (HP BIOS ID, HP Build ID, HP Vendor Tag), and HPBIOSUPDREC did not recognize it as valid HP firmware. I restored the official HP BIOS N76 Ver. 01.49, which is correctly signed and recognized by HP tools. The system is now working normally. I will therefore remain on this stable version. Merci pour votre retour. Après analyse, je confirme que le BIOS 01.62 que j’avais précédemment installé n’était pas le BIOS officiel HP. Il ne contenait pas les signatures HP habituelles (HP BIOS ID, HP Build ID, HP Vendor Tag) et HPBIOSUPDREC ne le reconnaissait pas comme un firmware HP valide.

J’ai restauré le BIOS HP officiel N76 Ver. 01.49, qui est correctement signé et reconnu par les outils HP. Le système fonctionne maintenant normalement.

Je reste donc sur cette version stable.
