Our laptop had been installed using legacy mode, rather than do rebuild I did the below to convert to a GPT Volume to allow the laptop to boot in secure UEFI Mode and that allowed for Bitlocker to be enabled

 

  1. Open Command Prompt with administrator privileges
  2. Issue the following command: mbr2gpt.exe /convert /allowfullOS
  3. Shut down and boot into your BIOS
  4. Change your settings to UEFI mode
