Hi:

What model Wi-Fi adapter does your notebook come with?

If you don't know, go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category and there you will find the name and model number of the wireless network adapter.

The model of the Wi-Fi adapter will determine if your notebook came with Bluetooth or not.

You can also check the BIOS and see if there is a Bluetooth adapter present and enabled.

Hi:

The Broadcom card may be a combination Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card.

If there is no Bluetooth adapter showing up in the device manager, most likely your notebook does not have Bluetooth.

There is only one other thing **bleep**if your notebook once had Windows 7 on it the Bluetooth may have been turned off in the HP connection manager software when the PC was upgrade to W10.

Make a bootable Ubuntu installer.

Get Ubuntu | Download | Ubuntu

How to make a bootable Ubuntu installer...

Create a bootable USB stick with Rufus on Windows | Ubuntu

Boot from the Ubuntu installer and select the option to 'Try Ubuntu without installing.'

See if you can turn on the Bluetooth in Ubuntu.

If you can, turn it on, exit out of Ubuntu, shut down the notebook, remove the Ubuntu installer.

Turn the notebook back on and when you get into Windows, the Bluetooth should be working.

If you cannot turn Bluetooth on in Ubuntu, then your notebook does not come with built in Bluetooth networking.
