HP Recommended

I bought new ink today (HP 64 tricolor and black) and it allowed me to print 4 pictures before it said it was low and poor quality on 5, 6 and terrible on 7th.  This isn't worth the money. Did you start filling with less ink, because I use to be able to print many, many more.  Is there another way to get more than 4 prints done for $40??
