I have just bought an HP ZBook with Windows 10 Pro and the screen dims considerably when unplugged. I can find no setting to stop this happening. The battery is set for best performance, the only power plan is balanced, with no adaptive brightness option available. My old HP laptop was the same brightness on mains and battery, this one is actually too dim for my eyes on battery, any ideas how to stop it dimming please?

I have now solved this, you can create a new power plan in Control Panel 🙂
