have two Elitebook 840 G8, both didn't detect the USB-C G5 dock stations.
What i did:
- Install all latest window updates.
- Install the latest BIOS.
- downgrade BIOS.
- delete all third party software.
- upgrade to win11 and then latest windows update.
- downgrade from win 11.
- restore BIOS to factory default.
nothing help...
i can see the lights on the RJ-45 port, but the network adapter not list in OS.
Plug USB sticker, that works ( 2.0 mode i think).
change to other brand USB-C dockstation, same problem.
i believe some driver prevented the USB-C dock station...
HP USB-C firmware software also not able to detect the dock station...
not sure if anyone got similar problem or not...
thanks in advance.

Hello @stampcoin
In this case, I would replace the dock station with a model that is 100% compatible with your configuration.
Have you already spoken with a HP technician ?
Please report your results.
