HP ProBook 635 Aero G8 Notebook PC IDS Base Model

I have an HP ProBook 635 Aero G8 laptop.

The battery will not charge beyond 80%.

I assume this is to protect the battery from excessive charging, but I need to be able to charge to 100%, when I'm travelling.

Things I've tried

  • Disable Power Control in BIOS
  • Enabled Let HP Manage my Battery
  • Disabled Let HP Manage my Battery
  • Enabled Maximize My Battery Health
  • Disabled Maximize My Battery Health
  • Installed HP Power Manager
  • Uninstalled HP Power Manager
  • Uninstall driver for Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
  • Reset BIOS

None of these work.

The battery will still not charge beyond 80%.

See attached report from powercfg /batteryreport

What I really need is the option "Maximize My Battery Duration", but this has been removed!

I see other users with the same issue:

Any ideas?

Thanks

Can someone please help with this?

At the moment, I have a laptop with 20% of its battery permanently lost.
