HP ProBook 650 G1 Base Model Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good Afternoon. I recently purchased the above ProBook 650 G1 on eBay without an operating system. I installed Win 10 Home 64 bit. Gosh it was a fantastic bargain at $85 and is like new. I installed the OS and changed hardrive to 256 SSD and replaced the 4mb memory with 16 mb maxing it out. I love it and it works great but I have run into a problem that has given me fits for 2 days. When I try to install HP Support Assistant (sp144692) it hits a wall and just sits there . When I try to stop the installation I get an error message :

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Any help appreciated. I realize this was most likely a corporate laptop and I have updated Bios but I am thinking it might be an obscure network setting

Thanks,
Mike

Hi, Mike:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to see if the older version on your notebook's support page installs.

Driver - HP ProBook 650 G1 Notebook PC | HP® Customer Support

The latest version may not be supported in your notebook.

I think your evaluation matches my experiences. Old version works and new will not install. Thanks So Much for your time and Experience. Seems when you get old a lot of things need to be confirmed..lol

Thanks,

Mike
