Microsoft Windows 11

Bitlocker first gave a notification that is was suspended. I then turned it off to see if the notification would dissapear if I turned it back on.

Now however, when I try to turn it back on it gives the following error message:

"The group settings for Bitlocker start up operations conflict and cannot be applied. Please contact your system administrator for more information".

I don't have a system administrator but my own Office 365 license (one man's company).

How can I resolve this error and turn Bitlocker back on?

Hello.

If you have disabled TPM in your laptop BIOS, re-enable it.

If you have customised Bitlocker settings in Local Policy editor or with handmade Registry changes that conflict for some reason - you need to revert them.

Start gpedit.msc and navigate to Computer -> Admin Templates -> Windows Components -> Bitlocker. Change any Enabled/Disabled option to Not Configured. Reboot and try again.
