I recently acquired one of these old laptops and have been getting it in workable condition again. Unfortunately it had a BIOS password so I used a method to remove it. However it also removed a couple of other fields, like Serial number, and SKU.
I've tried putting them back in using the HP BIOS Configuration Utility but it fails. I suspect that this is because I updated the firm to version 0.60 (from 0.1) in the hopes that it would correct these missing entries, it didn't and I now think that the new version is too new to work with that utility.
With these missing entries, EVERY time the system starts I get stuck at the BIOS screen until I hit enter. Is there away to re-enter the correct values or at least turn off the prompt for the error?
