Hello, I purchased HP Zbook x360 G5. It has Display patches issue. I claim for DOA in under 14 days. Will HP give me replacement product?

Your best and fastest option is to contact HP Technical Support yourself and ask about available options.

Reminders

  • Use the serial number of the device to submit the case (do not post that information on the Community).

 

  • Chat is not available in every region. In those areas where Chat is an option, Chat service hours are likely restricted.  In the event that Chat is not available in your region:  Call the number provided in the HP directory, else submit your case online (to receive phone contact information)

 

  • HP will advise you there is a fee for phone support and / or other services when your computer / device is no longer under warranty.  This is normal business practice.

 

  • HP may tell you that certain services are not covered under warranty.  This is normal business practice.  Standard Warranty typically covers specific hardware issues as explained in the Warranty contract. Care Pack coverage and warranties differ by package.

 

  • If the HP Contact (phone) number is not immediately provided:  Contact information is displayed on your screen after you submit your case online.  

 

  • HP websites are the only ones allowed to use the HP copyright circle/logo.  Look for the copyright on any website claiming to be HP. If in doubt, scroll to the bottom of the Website to find HP copyright logo.

Recently, HP has seen an increased number of third-party support websites selling HP driver downloads or diagnostic tools. Many of these websites use the HP trademark symbol and claim to be official HP distributors.

 

If your product supports your operating system, HP offers your driver and software at no additional cost through the HP website.

 

Use caution when dealing with any website that asks you to pay for HP driver downloads or tools that claim to diagnose your HP products. These websites might not be affiliated with HP in any way.

 

Do not install BIOS updates from a motherboard manufacturer's website. Only install BIOS updates from HP. Installing BIOS updates from the motherboard manufacturer can prevent the computer from accepting an HP system recovery. This could result in a loss of data.

Quick list - not completely inclusive...

 

Business / Commercial grade HP systems

 

NOTE:  Comments in parenthesis are my own; these should not be construed as HP sales or policy statements. 

 

  • Commercial systems are intended to be repaired / upgraded in the field - additional options are included to do both.
  • Commercial systems include access to Advanced BIOS features  (Advanced BIOS includes the coveted "backlit keyboard always on" feature.)
  • Commercial systems include access to Image Assistant Update and SSM Image Deployment software for both individual and networked systems.  (Options include many beyond the update capabilities included in the HP Support Assistant software.)
  • Commercial systems include a longer Warranty.  (Warranty varies by system, region - typically three years at this writing.)
  • Commercial systems include access to Business / Commercial service representatives in HP Technical Support.
  • Commercial grade manufacturing materials intended for durability and for use in an Enterprise environment.  (The degree to which this is apparent varies.  Like the consumer line, business systems vary by model, options, regional availability:  there are luxury models and economy models.)
  • Commercial systems include access to Client Security Software and additional security options.  (NOTE:  The tighter security options can get you into trouble if you don't understand them - this higher level of security is meant for an Enterprise (work) environment with available IT Support.  Nonetheless, the features are available to the home user.)
  • Commercial systems run Windows 10 Pro, which includes the various options available to the "pro" version of Windows, including more advanced group policy support.  (Windows Pro is not restricted to commercial systems.)
  • Commercial grade systems are more expensive - the initial purchase price is higher.  (Purchase prices vary.  For example, you can purchase a nice preconfigured notebook for as little as about $1000 US or spend around $6000 US to purchase a high end CTO (custom to order) mobile workstation.)
  • Commercial grade systems are frequently the first to include the latest technology.  This statement is a comment based on personal observation.

 

There are likely additional advantages, of course.
