HP 15 - ay083tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Everyone,

I am looking to buy the HP laptop model : HP 15 -ay083tu. Mainly for my work and video purposes. I would want to know what's the release date of this laptop, so that I do not miss out on a latest product and no. of years of my warranty. If this model is older than 1-2 years, please suggest me a laptop with comparable specs and price range.

Thanks in advance

The copyright date on the first version of the Service Manual is April, 2016 and another version was published in August so it is a fairly current model.

It is a 6th gen Intel Core and the latest is 7th gen but not a lot of upgrades, except as pointed out here, on a 6th gen you could run Windows 7, but 7th gens will never run Windows 7.

It does not have USB-C which is the latest connection but as far as I can tell not many people are clamoring for USB-C.

Warranty runs from date of retail purchase so as long as you buy it new retail you will have full warranty on it.

Models 15-ay1xxx would have a 7th gen processor. They share the same Service Manual so no other major differences.

Could you also tell me the difference between i3, i5 and i7? Is there a lot of difference between the three?

Wow that would take a seminar. Just think good, better and best processors. For most people for internet, office email, a little YouTube i3 is plenty. If you game get an i5 and if you edit video, compile Code, heavy Photoshop get an i7.
