Good afternoon,

i would like  know where to download the HP 4730s Bios Simulator  (see picture below) and also the difference between the  Notebook Upgrade bay, Notebook Upgrade bay  (UEFI) and the OS boot manager  (see picture below) .

Thank you very much.

Hi:

There is no BIOS simulator for that model.

The only info on the BIOS is this general document:

UEFI allows you to install a drive using the GPT partition table which supports drives greater than 2 TB in storage capacity.

The UEFI upgrade bay is what you would boot DVD Windows installation media from to install Windows in UEFI mode.

Most folks use a USB flash drive to install W10 because the ISO file doesn't fit on a standard DVD anymore.

You need a dual layer DVD for a W10 22H2 ISO file.

Unless you plan on installing a 4 TB drive (which may not even be supported in such an old notebook), there is really no need to run Windows in UEFI mode.

The OS boot manager determines what drive to boot from that has the operating system on it in UEFI mode.

Hello Paul,

thank you for the information.

Could you please recommend a powershell or similar tool for the determination of the HP 4730s BIOS settings for the UEFI System during runtime?

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with that.

If you want to run Windows in UEFI mode, and you are running W10, watch this video for how to convert the current MBR partition table to GPT:

After you make the conversion, you enable the UEFI boot mode setting in the BIOS.
