Probook 650
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Am looking at purchasing either a Probook G3 or G4 650 or 450 and have been informed 650 has better componentry however wonder if this is correct as I find it hard to discern much difference between the two?

Hello

first of all 450 G4 and 650 G3 series support Windows 10 Only as they may have Core i of 7th Generation called Kabylake

450 G3 and 650 G2 has Core i 6th Generation called Skylake , they support Windows 7 and Windows 10.

450 G3/G4 has Intel CPU without Vpro support (ex i5-6200U or 7200U) , 650 G2/G3 may have also i5-6300U or i5-7300U

450 G3/G4 don't have a docking station connector , 650G2/G4 has the Ultraslim 2013 Docking.

450 have entry level SSD called Value, 650 has better quality SSD.

may be the WLAN may be a little differte , choose a model with an Intel 2x2 WLAN card, so they have the same performance.

I would avoid a notebook with a WLAN 1x1 , the max quantity of data you can send/recevive is half compared with 2x2 WLAN card.

In any case both series have same memory , apart SSD , the component are the same.

If you could spend more , I woudl suggest the Elitebook 850 G3 if you use Windows 7 or G4 if you use Windows 10.

Bye

Thanks ever so much for your clear and concise reply which is very much appreciated, especially given not one single retailer or the local HP agents could get anywhere near answering my enquiry.

As I understand it Elite used to be military grade and as I only require something for home use the Probook will probably do the job.

Again thank you.
