HP EliteBook 865 16 inch G9 Notebook PC (473R6AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My internal SSD is reporting 99% health but also that it is in critical condition, according to WD Dashboard. I have checked the WD website to see if there was any warranty there: it says that WD is not responsible for third party OEM devices which contain their SSDs. Retail SSD gets 5y warranty, but OEM SSD is "go to reseller". So I must refer to the distributor, which is HP.

I know that sometimes, OEMs may put separate warranty on different parts of the device. Does anyone know if an internal SSD would be supported by HP longer than 1y even if the laptop itself only has the 1y warranty?

(Yes, I know, 1y is pretty short for the Elitebook. I was surprised too).

The 1-year warranty covers all parts of the PC.

There are no longer or shorter warranty periods for individual components.

You'll have to replace the drive yourself if the 1-year warranty has expired.
