I have an HP 17 Laptop and I can 'tget the HDMI connectors to display on my external Monotors. I have tried both Wavelink and ABIWAZY docking stations. I am using my USB-C port to plug the docking stations into my laptop. The laptop cannot detect another display.
I have not been able to get a response from the Docking station companies.
The monitor works OK when directly connected to my Laptop using the HDMI port.
Does the HP17 not send the video signals to the docking stations? The USB ports work OK.
I have an older HP an Elitebook 8460. Would the docking station work with it to use an external display?

Hello.
Your laptop does not support DP Alt Mode through the USB-C port. Check the docking station requirements - both very likely require DP Alt Mode.
Your options to use external monitors are the HDMI port in your laptop, or a USB docking station that relies on DisplayLink technology. Any USB dock that connects to USB-A (and has display outputs) should work since they don't rely on the DP Alt Mode in any case.
Elitebook 8460p doesn't have USB-C ports, but a USB-A dock would work just as well as with your HP 17.
