I'm trying to connect my HP monitors via a docking station or adapter. Monitors are not being recognized; however external mouse and keyboard are.
Here are some details:
Using: HP Laptop 17-cp0700dx
Dual monitors trying to connect via DisplayPort cables
Have tried:
-HP USB-C dock G5 - connected via both USBC and adding adapter to change from USBC to USB
-USB-C to Dual 4K DisplayPort Splitter Adapter - connected via both USBC and adding adapter to change from USBC to USB
-USB C Docking Station Dual Displayport Monitor - connected via both USBC and adding adapter to change from USBC to USB
Please.help.

Hello.
According to the Specifications page, your laptop does not output video through the USB-C port, it does not support "DP alt mode" feature that would allow usage of these docks/adapters. Check the adapter requirements - they probably list the DP alt mode in their documentation.
Your only options for external displays is the HDMI port on your laptop, and a USB Dock or USB adapter that does not require DP alt mode. Any USB dock (or adapter) that connects natively to USB A port will work. They use DisplayLink technology which emulates a display adapter to which the display is connected. Once connected your Windows should download a driver automatically for it.
Pay attention to the specifications of these DisplayLink powered adapters and docks as well - some may not support particularly high resolutions and in any case playing full screen video or even quick screen scrolling may be a bit janky due to the CPU usage and USB3 bandwidth limitations.
