HP EliteBook 6930p Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My system is Elitebook 6930p, 4gb of ram, 2.8ghz of processor, and socket 478.

I installed windows 10 couple of months ago, and I have been using it quite well, all of a sudden, my biometric stops to function, I restarted my system several times, but still not working, then I went to the device manager, and i discovered the driver for biometric has disappeared. On the installation of windows 10, camera is not working, I went to the device manager, I realized the camera driver is not installed. What is the way forward?

Hello.

Start by removing the battery and laptop charging cable from your laptop and press the power button for 30 seconds. Reconnect everything and check if the fingerprint reader came back. If it didn't, then it may have just died. It can be replaced, but may not be very economical.

If your laptop still has the original HP_Tools partition, then your laptop could be launched into a full Diagnostics mode where you can test different laptop parts. If the parts don't work there, then they probably will not work in Windows either, and it is a hardware issue at that point. Press ESC during computer boot up, and select diagnostics to get there. If you can't launch HP diags, then you can try creating a bootable USB Key from HP Diagnostics page.

Regarding the missing camera driver - you can just try the Windows 7 camera driver from 6930p download page. It may fail to install due to OS check, but even then it should extract the drivers into c:\swsetup\SPxxxxx folder. 32-bit drivers will not work in 64-bit Windows and vice versa so download accordingly.
