So ive read a few posts on here and its been an nightmare trying to troubleshoot and diagnose the issues with the monitors. About 3 years ago we moved into a new office and we had to look at a type c docking station monitor. At the the time the HP were the best ones on the market, we have only been using the monitors mainly with HP EliteBook's laptops from the 840 G5 to G9, also including 630 and 1030 models. So we have about 120 of them here in our office some singles and then some daisy chained via DP to a E243.

So at first we had all of the following issues
Network Drops outs

Power Delivery loss

USB A Ports not working

No Webcam working

Flickering video

Screens just random going into no signal.

The setup we use is via type c cable into the laptops on hotdesks. We found an advisory back in 2021 which led to the firmware tool being released which fixes a lot of faults, which we have ran and the firmware revision changes to BBM182 and updated the usb hubs 2,3 and a scaler IC. So ongoing with this issue every so often we get people walking up to us saying the screen dosent work and we have been then logging them with HP support directly as they all have warranty.

We have logged over 40x monitors and all have been replaced for like for like but appear to be gen2 variants of this monitor and also developed the same symptoms even with the replacements. Some being only used for a merely 30 hours before not working. At first we thought it was the cables but then after switching to alternative cables it is not as the cables power deliver without any issues just nothing else works. The only way we can get the monitors out of standby is do a power drain.

The problem with the gen2 or whatever variant they are the firmware update dosent work as it sees it as another model, also the firmware signature is wrong.

The following firmware we have seen are

IIM361

SQM182

IIM261

IIM151

Hp keep pushing back to us and saying its driver related and software on our laptops which are all hp elitebooks with standard build. We are currently dealing with our HP account manager and havent offer even a replacement to a new model.

My next finding is trying to find the firmware or the usb hub drivers for the monitors from genesys logic and understanding what firmware i need as my office is turning into a HP Graveyard of faulty monitors.
