EliteBook 840 G9

I work for a large US company, though in Ireland. We have seen a spike in charging issues with the HP EliteBook 840 G9 models where it stops charging when the power charger is connected. This doesn't change when the charger is connected to the other USB-C port and the charger plug changed to a different power socket. Have tried it with other working 65w chargers, but saw the same behaviour.

Two of my customers say that when they reboot the laptop, it begins to start charging again, but then at some later, unspecified time, it stops charging again and they eventually have to reboot again to get it to start charging up again.

With other machines, I have plugged in a higher wattage USB-C cable (e.g. 130w) and it then charges up fine, but will continue to drop when back on its own 65w charger.

My colleagues say that some updates from HP via the Support Assistant v9 have resolved this issue, though I don't have any further details on that.

All these machines are using the in-house Windows 11-based image we apply. Wondering if there is a known trend of these issues, with the G9 family?

Thanks for any leads on this.
