HP EliteBook X G1a 14 inch Notebook Next Gen AI PC (A42XGAV)
Other

I bought this business notebook to test for use in our corporate environment.  We have, over the last 8 years or so, almost exclusively used Elitebooks, ProBooks and a couple ZBooks.  Upto and including a ProBook 440 G11, we would image our PCs using a custom imaging tool that runs within WinPE.

However, this newest notebook is the first PC that will refuse to boot into the WinPE environment.  After the boot.wim file is downloaded, the screen goes blank and there's nothing I can do to make it respond, except to reboot it.

I even tried to make a bootable Win11 USB (and replacing the boot.wim with the WinPE image), but the system refuses to recognize it, and continues to boot into the host OS on C:.

FWIW, this is our first AMD Notebook.

Does anyone have any idea why I can't boot into WinPE on this notebook?
