In our office we are using more and more the Elitebook 665 G11 as new devices.

On most of the older notebooks HP and other brands, all working with Win 10 21H2, we are able to configure the behaviour of networking devices in the power/enery options.

The Elitebook 665 G11 does not seem to have this functionality any more, even on Win 10. Our devices are configured with the Realtek PCIE GbE Family Controller and the MediaTek WiFi 6E MT7922 (RZ616) PCIe Adapter.

Is there another network device driver available with the power configuration options or what needs to be done here?

Thanks for your help in advance,

Pascal

The HP EliteBook 665 16 inch G11 Notebook PC supports a range of networking capabilities, leveraging the Realtek PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Family Controller and the MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E MT7922 (RZ616) PCIe Adapter. Configuring the behavior of these networking devices in the power options might differ slightly compared to older models, particularly due to changes pertaining to newer operating system versions and network hardware updates.

Power Management for Networking Devices

To manage the power settings for network devices on the HP EliteBook 665 G11:

  1. Access Device Manager:

    • Open Device Manager by searching via the Search icon in the taskbar.
  2. Configure Ethernet:

    • Find the Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller in the Network adapters section.
    • Right-click and select Properties.
    • Navigate to the Power Management tab.
    • Check or uncheck options such as "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
  3. Configure Wi-Fi:

    • Locate the MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E MT7922 PCIe Adapter in the Network adapters section.
    • Right-click and select Properties.
    • Check for the Power Management tab, if available, and adjust settings like "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

Note that the availability of some power management options may depend on the version of Windows being used, as well as specific drivers and patches provided by the hardware manufacturers or HP.

If these options are not available, ensure you have the latest drivers installed for both the Ethernet and Wi-Fi adapters. You can find updates via the HP Support Assistant or the HP website to ensure compatibility and functionality with your device's specific configurations.

Networking Compatibility

The EliteBook 665 16 inch G11 supports the following:

  • Ethernet: Integrated RJ-45 port compliant with IEEE standard 802.3ab for Gigabit Ethernet.
  • Wi-Fi: Wireless LAN capabilities using the MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E, enabling dual-band connectivity, adding support for more reliable and faster internet connections, especially on compatible networks.
