I have an MSI 321URX monitor with USB C Power Delivery and Displayport Alt Mode. When I try to connect the laptop with the monitor through a USB cable (certified Thunderbolt 5-cable), the USB connection symbol briefly flashes in the Windows 11 system tray and I hear the beeping connection sound going "in and out", but it never displays anything on the monitor, and the monitor does not recognize the PC. I've tried using other high quality USB-C cables but nothing works. The only thing that seems to work is to first disable "Type C PD Charge" on the monitor, then connec the laptop, and then re-enable Type C PD Charge.

Iv'e also tried to enable High resolution DP Alt Mode in BIOS, but it didn't change anything.

Connecting a Macbook to the same monitor works and MSI tech support blames the issue on HP.

Does anyone have a clue? It's quite fiddly to disable PD charge since I need to connect a second device to the monitor first in order to change the settings, so it's not a preferred solution.
