HP EliteBook 840 G1 Base Model Notebook PC

Hello,

I have an Elitebook 840 G1 and an Elitebook 820 G4. Both of those laptops do not support direct USB-C charging. (840 G1 doesn't even have a USB-C port). For that reason, I have bought an HP 4.5mm and USB Dock Adapter Power Splitter as well as an HP AC Adapter 4.5mm zu 7.4mm. My docking station (Lenovo ThinkPad Hybrid 40AF0135EU) with a 135W power supply charges other HP laptops with USB-C charging with no issues, however, it neither charges the 840 G1 nor the 820 G4 when using the HP power splitter. I thought this was the specific use-case for the HP 4.5mm and USB Dock Adapter Power Splitter to be able to charge your "older" elitebooks through the new USB-C display and power cables. Can anyone help with this issue?

Michael
