Elitebook 840 G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

New Elitebook 840 G5. win 10 enterprise. My IT tech imaged it for me so it's not an HP image. Touchpad works but has no 2-finger scroll. 2-finger tap does produce right-click so it has no problem detecting 2 fingers. 2-finger pinch doesn't work either, tested in photo app and edge browser. I have touch screen but it's not convenient to move back and forth between screen and touchpad just to scroll. I installed the "HP pointing device driver" I found listed under my model and it displays a dialog but nowhere does it have 2-finger scroll or gesture. Even after the installation, the mouse properties dialog has no synaptic touchpad tab. I can't believe a 2019 new laptop can't do what my 5-yr laptop can do.

I'm pretty sure it could do it before it was Imaged...

The issue now is to get your IT Tech to resolve the induced problem.

You might start by deleting the Touchpad in Device Manager and then scanning for new devices.

If my post resolves your issue please click the accepted as solution button under it.
