Hi,
I am looking forward to buying the elitebook 840 g7 (the one with i7, 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage) and I wanted to ask some questions.
First: how much can I upgrade the RAM of this laptop?
Second: is the SSD replaceable (I would like 512GB instead of 256)?
Third: In unboxing videos I've seen there is a bag in the box, is this bag a backpack or simply a laptop bag?
Please help me,
Thank you in advance.
-Hans

Hi Hans,
Q1) You can upgrade the RAM if you want or need to. The notebook supports up to 64 GB of RAM. 2 slots are available
Q2) Yes, the SSD is replaceable.
Q3) Bags/backpacks vary by region and seller. They are considered accessories and are sold separately. The combo depends on the local market. It could be just a top, a case or a backpack. But you need to ask the seller of the notebook or check the specs there.
All of the answers are available in the quick specs document for 840 G7 here >> https://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c06603706
HP Quick Specs website >> https://h71069.www7.hp.com/quickspecs/overview.html
Hope this helps. Let me know if any other questions or issues.

You are welcome.
Replaceable means that you can replace the existing SSD drive or RAM and change it with another one.
- For example, if your Elitebook initially comes with 256 GB or 512 GB SSD (or 16 GB of RAM or 32 GB of RAM) , then you can get the existing chip out and then insert another one (either the same type. or bigger or smaller).
Note that Elitebook computers are configure to order (CTO) models usually. You can work with the seller of the notebook to initially have bigger SSD or bigger RAM (bigger capacity) even from the beginning and the seller can install the bigger SSD or RAM even from the beginning.
