You can find on the internet a guy who would help you but he ask money but I read a lot of good comments about him...

But I am not allowed to discust this because it's not official an HP employee

Thanks but I read that if I could only have my issue escalated to the right person, they would email me a file and instructions to perform the reset. I feel if I could just get to a chat session, I might have a chance. Regards, mtcstle

It should work, if not try the mazzif not that cheap but It's good survice....

They don't accept it for a reason maybe...

Is there somewhere on an 8440p where I can find another serial # than the one recorded in BIOS? Unix
HP Recommended

I think you have more options

You have the serial number in the bios

and you have one on the back of you computer (normaly)

I payed for the unlocking tool and still not regretting it...

What or where is the mazzif solution you recommended, Any idea what it costs?

@Unix

@KNRK  just copied and pasted my information on how to remove the password.

There is no charge for the service.

You just need a flash drive  or  a USB to SATA cable and any SATA drive.
