I've just recently bought a refurbished Elitebook 845 G8 and now I am looking for a docking station. For the past days I've read every article and I am still unsure.

Requirements:

1 USB-C connection for Power, USB, Screens, ...

Dual 4k at 60hz

Good built quality

Preferably not too pricey. Refurbished/used is just fine

The Elitebook does not have Thunderbolt, severely limiting my options.

I would prefer a Dell WD19TB or WD22TB4, since me previous employer had them everywhere and I never saw any issues with any of them. But they don't seem to be an option, since they only support Thunderbolt and not DisplayLink or MST.

So far only the HP G2 and HP G5 seem to be an option.

Any recommendations?

Elitebook 845 G8 is a series of many different models/products, many different combinations/configurations therefore very hard to say what EXACTLY are/is on your machine to have a proper comment. Please read Graphics section on page 1 of the following manual to work this out

Sorry I don't familiar with other dock products from different vendors, therefore most like the HP USB-C G5 dock is the way to go. I tested my HP USB-C G5 dock (5TW10AA) on many HP machines and few Dell machines and very happy with the out come.

Regards.
