Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have problems connecting a MSI Optix mag161v portable external display to my Elitebook 850 G5 via a USB-C/USB-C cable. Tried the same setup on my work Dell Inspiron and worked plug&play without installing any driver, but if I attach the display to the Elitebook nothing happens. No sounds, no power. Anything. Could it be that the USB-C port of my Elitebook doesn't have enough wattage to power up the external display?

Is the USB C Adapter have a lightning symbol beside it? Some USB C ports don't provide enough external voltage

 

Does it make a difference if you're on battery or plugged in with power cord / AC Adapter?

Hi, thanks for the answer. Yes, the port has the bolt sign and notebook is always AC powered...
