Elitebook 850 G8 HD Camera Black screen

Hi! When I use the camera or a video calling app, the screen remains black. I attempted to update the driver, but it didn’t resolve the issue. I also uninstalled the driver and restarted the device, but the problem persists.

Details:

• HP Elitebook 850 G8 HD Camera shows a black screen on Windows 11.
• Tried rolling back the driver, reinstalling the driver, and uninstalling the device.
• None of these steps helped.
• Unfortunately, a Windows restore point is unavailable.

Have you checked its LENS cover ? Please use your finger to slide its cover to left or right and try again. You also need to allow the app to access the camera (in this case video).

Hey BH! Yep, lens cover’s slid to the left. All apps, including Camera, have permissions set. Any help would be much appreciated!

The problem is the same for Camera, MS Teams, Skype, whatever.
