I have tried using both an 840 g10 and an 860 g11, which according to specs have the 5MP IR camera.
The 840 g10 has an app called HP presence video, which manages all the camera effects. It's not as responsive as that of the 860 g11 (due to the absence of NPU?), but it has all the advertised features. One of them is the auto keystone correction, that when the camera recognises a whiteboard adjusts to it for optimal visibility. The 860 g11 has the new poly camera pro app, which is faster than the HP presence video, but I cannot find any simmilar feature. Is there any setting about it ar any plans for it to be implemented in the new app?
I have also noticed that the max resolution for the 840 g10 camera is 4k but on the 860 g11 is 2k.
Why is that difference in the camera features of these 2 notebooks despite both of them having the 5MP IR camera option (according ot their p/n)?
These differences appear in all HP notebook models and make choosing the notebook with the right specs so difficult. In the end there is no need for business laptops to be offered with base features that can be found in the HP 250 series.

The 840 G10 has builtin IR camera BUT NOT all 860 G11 machines have IR camera, that is an OPTION. Did you buy that option ?

Does the 860 ACTUALLY have entry (Biometrics Device) in Device Manager ?
- If no then your machine does NOT have IR Camera
- If Yes, please try https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/ish_6948628-6948684-16

Yes, it has and I can succesfully use windows hello to sign in.
My main concerns are about the maximum camera resolution (which ideally should have been the same as both have the 5MP sensor) and the auto keystone feature that centers whiteboard while in video call missing in 860 g11 but available in 840 g10, which has nothing to do with the IR
