I have the same issue with a ZBook Fury 18 G10. I travel to different offices daily using landing pads that are all different and have the same issue regardless of the docking station (some HP, some StarTech), monitor (some HP, some other) or cables used. Could be 1x p/day could be 5x p/day. Totally random, and always lasts about 3-4 seconds before the screen comes back. Does not effect remote view when displaying in meetings or via remote support session. Does not occur when on laptop display. Firmware's and drivers are all up to date.

Having a ZBook Fury 17 G7 Mobile Workstation, I was having this problem right from the start. Regardless if using HP Thunderbolt Dock or a generic Thunderbolt Dock.
Flickering happens same as described in initial post.
Only sometimes flickering becomes "constant" and I have to disconnect laptop entirely, so I can work again. This is usually the case when laptop is very hot.
I have not found a working fix for this yet either.

UPDATE:
I was able to stop the display drop out by switching the external monitor to a direct connect to the USBc port on the laptop and bypass the docking station for video. 5 days so far without a single incident.
Not ideal but it stopped the issue.

There is a new Intel Graphics Driver for the HP laptops.... it states it directly addresses this issue. Maybe look into it, i havent confirmed it works for me yet.
"- Fixes an issue which causes an external monitor connected to the dock to blink intermittently.
- Fixes an issue which cause input from the mouse and the keyboard to lag."

The above is for a laptop model that I know we have the same exact issue for and with a G4 thunderbolt dock. As seen, this looks to address the problem at least based on the brief notes. I suspect this bug may be triggered when using certain docks.... but the fault lies with the intel driver maybe??
Give it a try.

Worth a try although it is mainly Fury ZBook workstations mentioned in these posts and there is no such update - at least for my model. ZBook Fury comes with NVIDIA graphics as they are (supposedly) built for GPU demanding applications. I do not use the Intel Graphics.
