Hello everyone and thank you for your valuable time,

 

I recently got a Zbook 15 G5 for my work, which is confidential, and as the title says, the fingerprint validity sensor does not show in the device manager nor does it work. I really need it to be working so my partners don't see my password.

 

My question is the following, does HP sell some Zbook 15 G5 models without a fingerprint sensor although it looks installed physically on the surface near the intel sticker ?

 

Please provide any information that may help me, the laptop is still in warranty.

HP zBook 15 G5 is a series of many different models/products and Fingerprint reader is an option (for select products only). Did you buy this option ? Otherwise your machine only has a small window but NO sensor/reader is underneath. If you wish, you can install using following parts

 

Fingerprint reader board part #  L28662-001 or
    The fingerprint reader bracket is available in the Bracket Kit, spare part number L28721-001.
    The fingerprint reader cable is available in the Cable Kit, spare part number L28710-001
