After a Windows upgrade I set up the fingerprint access.  The next day it didn't work.  When I try to reset it in Windows Hello it says there is no compatible sensor.  I have put the most up-to-date driver.  It is a Validity VFS495, as listed in the Device Manager.

Am I missing some software, tried Simple Pass and Digital Pesonna?  Is there a patch somewhere?

For those reading - fingerprint sensor driver for this computer:

Synaptics WBF Fingerprint Driver

Software

Neither the old SimplePass software nor the original Digital Persona software is compatible with Windows 10.

Instead, find your security software here:

HP Client Security Manager

Client Security has "notes" of digital persona software, that is, you might run across file structure that references "digital persona".  If this statement does not make sense to you, ignore it.  The statement only makes sense to those of us who have been around long enough to remember the original Digital Persona software (before SimplePass).

After the Client Security software is installed, you will likely find the Help files here:

C:\Program Files\HP\HP ProtectTools Security Manager\Bin\Help\en\hpsecmgu.chm

Double-Click on the file to open it.
