Hi All,
I will explain the problem and post a resolution in the same post as this was killing me for weeks.
Issue
I have a HP 840G8 Notebook connected to a HP 5TW10AA Docking Station.
When using the notebook with the docking station I found my USB Keyboard and USB Mouse would do the following:
1. Mouse would occasionally freeze
2. Keyboard would repeat characters like this: repeeeeeeeeeat
Resolution
In order to fix it I went into the BIOS of the HP 840G8 and disabled all the HP Power Management Features including the Suspend / Extended Idle Power States features of power management.
Since than have not had any issues with keyboard or mouse when connected to docking station and it has not skipped a beat.
Here is a screenshot of my working settings which have now fixed all docking station issues with USB Mouse and USB Keyboard. No more repeating / sticky keys with the following settings in the HP BIOS.
Advanced -> Power Management Options
Runtime Power Management -> Switch Off (Untick)
Extended Idle Power States -> Switch Off (Untick)
Power Control -> Switch Off (Untick)
Even with the latest BIOS updates to the HP 840 G8 and the Docking Station the above still needs to be completed. The latest drivers, BIOS updates, Operating System updates did nothing to help me other than the above Power Management Changes to the BIOS.
Hope this helps others who have faced a similar issue. Was driving me nuts for weeks. 🙏

The work-around fixed the problem.
We're testing the BIOS update from 9th august.
And the first results are positve. You can get the update for the HP Elitebook 850 G8 here

Hi,
Glad to have found this thread and others. At least now I know it's not just an issue I'm having. However I tried disabling all the Power Management Options you suggested on a few of my troubled machines yesterday and had one of those laptops (EliteBook 840 G8 using HP USB-C/A Universal Docking Station G2) freeze up today. Keyboard and mouse would not work until the computer was rebooted. Just curious if anyone else still having the issue after implementing the power management option changes. Thanks.

Try the BIOS update from begin of august. You do'nt need to disable the powermanagemenet settings.
I'm working on a G8 850 Elitebook and have the BIOS update. It's working perfectly since.
We are looking/searching for a good way to update the BIOS at all our 485 Elitebooks.
