HP ZBook 15 G6 Mobile Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear Friends,

from several weeks I have a problem with my HP Zbook 15 G6 (8JM08ET#ABZ).

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro - Ver. 22H2 - Build 19045.3803)

The two function keys for increasing or decreasing the luminosity of the display are not working (the two keys are also identified with F3 and F4).

Other function keys are correctly working (e.g. volume, etc.).

The "Screen Setup" (right click on desktop) is correctly working and is possible to modify the luminosity with the slider.

For my work is very helpful to use the two keys instead of the slider.

How can I solve that problem ?

Thanks.

Alex

Hello again,

Each HP device has its own "Software and Download" page. For your Zbook 15 G6 the download page the URL is: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-zbook-15-g6-mobile-workstation/22892887

Just select your Operating System version and the page will list all applicable firmware / download / software downloads.

You can either navigate the HP.com and use the HP search - or just search for e.g. "hp zbook 15 g6 drivers" on the web to get the correct HP page. There will be non-HP search results as well - do not bother with them.

Hello.

If it used to work, Windows may have updated the HP Hotkey driver to a fault version. HP Hotkey driver is responsible for enabling those extra functions

Windows Update history will show driver updates. If this is the case, you can try driver rollback in Device Manager. Search for "HP Hotkey Service" or "HP LAN/WAN/WLAN + Hotkey Service" device to do it.

You can also try updating the HP Hotkey software to the latest version, here is the download link: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp149501-150000/sp149673.exe
